Bike boots

Post by Virt »

So my boots have died recently, and one of them now struggles to do up completely. As a result it catches in the wind whenever I go above 80 and I can feel it dragging me to the left slightly, it's not dangerous or anything it's just a pain in the butt.

Found an offer for some Spada X-Race WP boots, for £65 - which is like half price or something..

Anyone know of any reviews or have any opinions on them? My last boots cost me £80 and lasted 7 months before breaking

Hi,
What size boots are you after?
Have a couple of pairs of size 9. Plain black, red & black, if any good to you until you get sorted.

To me boots are like a helmet or a pair of gloves......get the best ones you can afford.

I use A* SMX plus boots myself.

Yes they are a bit pricey but my last pair save me from a broken ankle, so in the long run they were actually cheap......

Now I always use boots with an exoskeleton so you can't roll your ankle.

Before you ask, yes I have pics I can post if you would like.

As others have said buy the best you can afford, I have been wearing Sidi Black Rain boots for the last 10 years and before any one asks I am on my 3rd pair, not the cheapest boots around but the quality is top notch. They can be found on Ebay somtimes for not to bad money may be worth a look.

Buy cheap, buy many times.

I have few sets of cheap boots lying around damaged.

I splashed out and got Sidi Cobra Goretex. Best boots I've had.

Well then this is why I wear "good" boots....

Notice what is missing??

Image

I'll help out.... the heel guard is missing on the rear set..... I sheared it off with my foot when the bike landed on me.... :eek2

Here is where the foot peg tried to stab my foot but the boot stopped it

Image

and this is my foot the next day..... I could walk fine, with no pain but you can clearly see where the boot has armor.......

Image

You can see where the heel cup stopped the bruising on the bits that would hurt to walk on and yes my ankle was swollen a bit but the fact I could walk at all it all down to the boots

Hawk is getting very proficient at hijacking threads..A challenger approaches!

And thanks for the offer bsabloke, but size 9 would be too small. I'm looking to get them by the end of nextcweek, so replacement boots aren't necessary, just curious if anyone had experience with these boots
