Universal Honda Parts

Post by Image »

Pleased with myself for saving a few quid by using a Honda Hornet starter motor instead of a Storm one (thanks for the tip Wicky). It's got me wondering if there's many other Honda parts that fit the storm? Anyone tried any or heard of any?

Unfortunately http://www.RonAyers.com rejigged their site so it lost the 'find where this part is used' but a clue is in the part numbers

44650-MBB-000 > The MBB specifies the part is specific to the Honda VTR1000F

22860-MT7-000 > This is the clutch slave cylinder unit - and is a common part on Firestorms, Blackbirds & VFR800s.

So basically find on Ron Ayers the Honda part no of what you're looking for and slap it into google to see what crops up from a variety of sources. This will potentially widen your options when searching for used bits on fleabay etc.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I've seen a Kawasaki GPZ900 tank fitted to a storm. Don't know how he did it but it increased his capacity to 40L but in my opinion it didn't look right.
