ah huh... well so long as you like it! 8)

I think I want something like the 707 model here

http://www.mayhemmotorcycles.co.uk/acat ... Grips.html

it's just a shame they can't seem to string English together to explain it! (click on the product to see what I mean)

They're quite local to me so a trip down might be in order to have a feel...

how difficult was it to get the RH grip off the throttle tube? any tips?

yeah ok they would suit the Storm better.

Getting the old one off is easy.
This little old guy in the custom shop said "Kid, you know the best way to get those suckers off?"
"Uhh No" I replied. whilst he sat there with a burger in one hand and picking his nose with the other.
"Grab yourself a stanley Knife and a tin of your mums hair spray. Slit the old rubber length ways and peal it open like a bannana. Then cover the bar with hairspay until it's dripping wet and shove your new grip on as fast as you can before it dries. That way it slips on nicely and when the hairspay dries it wont slip around the bar when you twist the throttle"
Well, as you can imagine I was in awe of this bugga picking, burger muching, aging old hippy, so I mumble thanks, took a wide berth of him and left the shop.
I could see the logic of what he had said so I thought what the hell and gave it a go. Worked great, only took five minutes, they never slipped, and Mum never found out I'd pinched her hairspray, so jobs a gooden.
Give it try see how you get on

 What an image! With guys like that is it any wonder so few women get into biking :?:

Actually I was hoping to get it off without damaging it as, if I don't like the new ones I might want to change back....

I've actually used washing up liquid in the past to put new ones on (as I don't have hairspray and haven't seen my mum in years to nick anything!) - has the same effect, dries almost sticky and holds the new one in place (if you don't use too much!) but I ended up damaging my throttle tube in the process.... hence the question.

Ha!
That was nearly twenty years ago and I still haven't forgotten it 8O ( kids today are probably thinking the same about me (except the nose pickiing bit,I only do that in private or with mates )
Good old fairy liquid will work a treat, like you said, just dont use too much. I suppose you could try a little penatrating oil and apply it like you would wd 40 with the little nozzle stuck between the tube and the grip other than cutting it off I can't think of an easier way .
Have fun

As far as I know, the only way off is to cut it. I only ever use water to fit them. If you use WD-40 to remove the old one, make sure you clean it thoroughly before you fit the new one. I like the yellow ones on the bottom of the page.
