Avon AV35/36
Any one run a storm with Azaro AV35/36's?
Local tire place is offering a pair for £125 fitted.
Had Azaro's on my cbr6 and they were pretty good, esp in the wet.

Re: Avon AV35/36
I have a friend who would never put Avons on a bike especially when wet. I'd say if you were happy with them before then you know what you're getting yourself into. £125 is a pretty good price in anyones book!Robbe wrote:Any one run a storm with Azaro AV35/36's?

Re: Avon AV35/36
From the looks of it the 35/36's are getting superceded by the Avon Azaro ST Sport Touring AV45/46's hence the price.
I balieve you can still get Dunlop D207RR's at a very good price at the moment if you shop around.

Wet's not going to be a problem now, since bike will be a dry weather toy.firestorm_al wrote:

Azaros in the wet....? Erm, yeah, i bought my secondhand '99 VTR with AV35/36s and they were good in the dry, but felt awful in the wet, especially over white lines, cats eyes, overbanding etc. They seemed to grip, but never really trusted them.... Junked them for BT010s - big improvement! Still, the Avons are cheaper... Yer pays yer money I guess :-)

I personally would not run avons, as they are shite in the wet, poor grip no feedback,& you dare not lean over with them as there is not enough tread to clear water, this can be a recipe for disaster.
i have run pirrelli evos on a previous storm they were prety good in all weathers, totally stable & stickier than sh*t to a blanket
a corsa on the front & a standard evo on the back. the gts ones are also a good cheaper option , but they do take a bit to heat up & are not quite as grippy as the evos.
the dunlop 207 rr are also pretty good & like the pirelli evos will wear out quite quickly & also remember due to the profile of these tyres they steer quickly & can feel a bit vauge on straight lines at speed somtimes,
havent tried the new 208s yet but may give them a go if the price is right when its time for a new set.

Can't comment on wet performance and personally I would rather eat my own doodoo than buy avons BUT
My mate is very quick on them at trackdays
VERY QUICK
he prefers em to 207's !!!!
As for me
Wet - Michelin pilot Race wets
Dry - Michelin Pilot Race 2 ( yikes 300 miles to a back tyre)
Inter - Michelin Pilot Cup sport
Road - Pilot Sports
Give em time to warm up and they all stick like you know what to a blanket
