Tail fairing

Post by spikenipple »

As title, I'm after a tail fairing after the bloke painting mine decided to put it in the stove to cure the paint....wtf :x :x :x :x

Any colour is fine but gloss black is preferable. Lugs and light mounts intact please!

Spike, I have a Yellow one Sir,

Unfortunately the bottom left hand lug is snapped off ...Fortunately I have the snapped off piece so a repair could be made.

The top lugs are intact & has the rear light still attached so I assume lugs ok.

I assume that the ''painter'' is either paying for a replacement or painting it for free ...

I like the idea of a Salvador Dali Firestorm, but this painter must be a sandwich short of a picnic?!

I've got some Alraldite to fix my broken lug, should only take 5 mins and won't break again

Locate and glue it first, then plastic weld it with Weller soldering gun and Rawlplugs. You can weld any plastic rock hard! (Though I would glass over the top for good measure)

Or having used it I recommend Plastex

Jamie - if you want to pop round I can fix your lug

That would be great Wicky! I'm a little low on funds atm, luckily it's not a big problem as the fairing seems relatively happy without the lug for now, so as soon as I've got some plastex I'll give you a shout & flick the kettle on!

I think it may have been the AA guy when my R/R went, he insisted on ripping the bike apart even though I said "don't bother! I know what's wrong!"

Had a bloomin' good ride today! 4 tanks of fuel burnt & my face aches from smiling all day! Got some good pics from the museum of power I'll put on in a bit!
