foot pumps

Post by BigVeeGrin »

Had a Halfords double barrel jobby, but after a couple of years it has blown some seals or similar, i.e. seems buggered.

Anyone recommend one (Michelin ones are reviewed badly in a few places) or got one of these?

Quite awhile ago I got one of these...

http://www.tesco.com/direct/activequipm ... d=200-5179

IIRC it was on offer & I gave something like £8 for it...

Used it on push bikes , Storm, car & even a wheelbarrow !

The above link is for a very similar one to mine but is saying out of stock, however there is another one, different make on Tescos site just a bit dearer...

 i am a total wombles wit, official - I've got a track pump for the cycling, tyres at 100psi, so it will obviously be ok for the Storm

So you don't need one then...?

I totally wasted about 2mins of my life typing that out & adding the link, then another 2 mins wasted typing this pointless reply...& what do I bloody get out of it...???

A bloody good laugh that's what...

Perhaps ''Numb Nuts'' would be better description...I blame all that cycling & them lycra shorts...

The track pump will be hard work on a bike or car tyre, it is designed for small volume high pressure work, so high volume, low pressure will be a lot of pumping

The requirement for a lot of pumping hasn't stopped most guys from doing anything before

Gave up on using a foot pump and now use an electric mains air compressor for the bike and pushbikes.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Virt is in the small volume high pressure bit, by sheer dint of his age, urge and dinky.

Anyway, surely the physics are no different, pumping a stroke at x volume to y pressure, means the high volume to low pressure is no more work than the opposite?? Maybe a few more ups and downs at less effort???

Thumper - got myself one of these, bit longer than Macs, cope with higher pressure more easily maybe

Only if tyre is really flat...which of course it shouldn't be anyway. For just topping up its fine, just a few strokes & your done...no more than 3 mins furious pumping, surely even you can manage that Al...
