Stu

I'm surprised as its an insurance repair that Fins are even suggesting repairing the fairing as opposed to replacing. As to condition - you don't accept the bike back until you are happy with it under ANY circumstances!

I know a guy got his ZZR back completely different colour, silly bugger signed the forms and accepted the guys word he'd sort it later - yea, right AFTER he'd had his money direct from the insurance... I don't THINK so!

I'd push for new fairing (and ask Fins if you can buy your old one back cheap so you have a track set/spare/flog it on ebay - they may even just give them to you, I doubt it though)

Has the other party actually Admitted liabilty yet? If they have push for new. If they haven't bear in mind that if they go for a split liability you'll have to pay for some of the repair and that may mean the repair option is better.

I was suprised cos when Ive had the fairing off its all one bit.

Yes you are right it does come off as one unit, but that one unit is made up of quite a few pieces all screwed together, there is quite a bit to it :!:

My thoughts exactly

Ive rung the garage and theyre checking availability before I make a decision on this.

What makes it a little moe complicated is I really dont want to be riding the ol bandit 600 on my bike hol in ireland. I MISS MY BABY.

But i also dont want to rush it and regret getting a less than perfect fairing.

Bugger bugger bugger.

I really should hold out for a full fairing replacement.

Anyone wanna lend me their storm for a week

preferably the one with the single side swingarm and twin headlights like yellafella

Girlie biker, just looking at your footer

How many bikes!!!

Had a zzr600 before my VTR. Lovely first decent sized bike.
My bro had the GPZ500, another lil beauty.

You have great taste.

not really big enough!

Stu

Thanks! 8) Well a girl needs choice!

The ZZR was my dream bike, but in reality its a bit of a big heavy beast to ride, steady enough for a first bike but for me anyway it restricts how much my riding can and will advance, hence I looked for something that actually liked going round corners - the VTR. The Geep is just there for rainy days - can be a nice looking little bike, mine however is a crashed repairable, a bit rough round the edges!

Isn't it strange how perspective effects our opinions?
If you'd come from a full-on sportsbike you'd never have said the VTR likes corners -especially not in standard trim!
And I know what you mean about the ZZR, I too had one previous to the VTR. However, I'd have said it'd improve your riding coz you learn about geting the line right first time (coz there's bugger all chance of changing it mid-corner!!)
And also about being smooth with the controls

I agree, it does make for smooth riding, I know I rarely use my brakes to slow, only to stop and I've always found the engine to be incredibly smooth running.

For me its a confidence thing, my riding is in a rut, mainly cause I've been down the road so many times. It kills me to see my bike(s) in bits so I've been hoping that with something that feels a bit lighter/easier to corner quickly so I can get back to where and was and progress from there. I've never really had a problem with lines (I don't think) it's kinda hard to explain really I guess I'm more scared of whats round the corner and whether I can stop the beast in time if I have too which makes everything harder than it needs to be.

I've never ridden what you would consider a full-on sportsbike, the positions are just too uncomfortable for me with my short arms! The Storm is about as full-on as I'd want to get.

Stu, sorry about the hijack!! Hope Fins sort you out properly!

The ZZR taught me to corner.
It was frightening carrying that much weight, not being able to change a cornering line and running off into the gravel.

Could never go back though. Its quite a dated bike these days.

The suziki gsxr I borrowed showed up the VTRs cornering as not quite what it could be but I still want my baby back.

In the end I did get full fairing replacement rather than repair.
Thanks for the advice
