Both at similiar prices

M8tey... I cannot offer an opinion on the Michelin RP2 I dont have one
or know anybody that has fitted one ..... but I have just fitted a Pirelli
Diablo Rosso 2 back tyre to replace a Pirelli Diablo that had plenty of
tread was legal but was squaring off ..after 4 years use ...my new
tyre is well.... the dogs danglies... and really I cannaot fault this black circle
of plastic/rubber compound that makes me fell so safe , tractable both in dry and
wet and worth every penny I spent to have it fitted on my firestorm. My storm is
a joy to ride and I fell extreemely confident riding ... thats all I have to say.

Pilot road 2 is a sport touring tyre but gives good enough grip for most on the road, very good tyre that will last well.
Diablo rosso 2 is a sport tyre, it offers more grip and will last less time. It's not the softest most sticky tyre, Pirelli do a corsa version with even more grip and less life, then there's the super corsa's too. Best way to describe it is as a fast road tyre.
If you don't do many miles and want the piece of mind of grip then Rosso 2, if you want it to last and be a good tyre for all round riding wet and dry, cold and warm then go for the PR2.
I have Rosso 2's on my bike and I would be surprised if I got 2000 miles out of the rear. PR2's I would expect 3500-4000 out of a rear. (I'm happy with my Rosso's)
