Different manual CCT found - NOT APE - anybody?

Post by bluesman »

Stormers,

While browsing in Inet found something VERY interesting.

Seems that company called Orient Express (well known British aftermarket engine parts) also makes manual CCTs, and by look of it their product is miles ahead of APEs. And when checked on BigCC Racing website (those guys sell Orien Express parts amongst lot of stuff) it looks like normal price for those CCTs (I used CBR600/929 CCT for referrence)is about 39 GBP. And I might be wrong but I think 929 CCTs pretty much same with SHawk.

Does anybody knows anything about those CCTs?

I only found a one photograph of that CCT
and BTW - that company makes some other parts, even specific for SHawk, for example adjustable cam sprockets, clutch parts, crankshafts etc. etc.

Here is link to BigCC racing (UK company) that do drag race motors and sell Orient Express stuff...

Here is link to Orient Express site, PDF file there with photograph of CCT. To be honest I really do like those CCTs by look of it....

Now, as most of you in UK and I am not :) may be somebody can call those guys and ask if CBR CCT will fit into VTR etc. etc.
At 39 GBP it's a bargain by look of it...

APE list the same tensioner for

CBR 600 FS-FY 95-02
CBR 900 92-99
hornet 900

These all have the same APE part number as the Storm, the Orient express ones don't look dissimilar to the APE ones, but thay are machined more prettily.

Thanks - that'll be my next buy then...

yep, OEs seems to be better machining but not only that....
OE CCTS have a o-ring seal around pushing rod to stop oil leaks... :) I saw your exhange of APEs experience with PeteL...and APEs leaking, aren't they? :(
And also internal part of pushing rod seem to be thicker and solid...

The ape's have an O ring on the shaft, its only the back one that leaks a very small amount.
