Carbon wrapping
Carbon wrapping
Has anyone carbon wrapped the rear fairing , seat cowl and also the hugger.
Only thinking about it now instead of painting back to yellow, looks a difficult job

Re: Carbon wrapping
Speak to Agent pineapple he's done a fair whack of Carbon wrapping over the years and can tell you the brands to avoid etc. But from what I gather the 3M is the market leader of better quality wrap.

Re: Carbon wrapping
using vinyl wrap is very tricky, the more you practice the better you'll get, start with easier parts, like the headlight surround and single seat cover before attempting other parts with more angles and curves, use good quality vinyl, like carl said the 3m stuff is the market leader. you'll also need a hair dryer or heat gun, you'll also need to clean the area your going to cover. a couple of simple tips are always cut the vinyl a fair bit bigger than you think your going to need, theres nothing worse than doing a great job only to find out your not going to be able to cover all of it, also start from the middle and work outwards. by far the toughest thing to do is the petrol tank, a decreasing radius makes it something only a pro should attempt. good luck with it fella....

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Re: Carbon wrapping
don't forget to match the angle of the carbon weave from panel to panel, otherwise it will look rough, its also very handy to have a craft scalpel....

Re: Carbon wrapping
Probably worth going to a paint supplier and buying some panel wipe to clean before applying wrap.
