what have you done to your "bike" today
Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I shouldn't need to bleed anything should I? The piston hasn't moved.

If you didn't tie the clutch lever back before removing then you'll need to bleed it. Only a 5 minute jam jar job.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

No don't clamp it in the vice as you don't wont to overtighten things. Just lay the chain on it's side and give the pin some gentle taps with the hammer, just enough for it to do the the job. You don't wont to go so mad that it restricts the movement of the link. Or use a centre punch if you have one that covers the area of the pin.
The slave could have stayed where it is and you can remove the cover with it still attached. Either tie the clutch lever back or remove it and you don't have to bleed the clutch. I see you have cable tied the piston back. I think you will end up having to bleed it afterwards which can be a bit of a faff.

Ok thanks, I'll go easy with the hammer and a punch on the pins.
Damn, I even read through the Haynes over a cuppa & smoke before removing the cover
I obviously didn't take in what I was reading. I figured it would be like the brakes I.e don't touch the levers! Oops.

Road it hard again ! Don't think this engine going to last another 25k like planned ! Oil use is bad very bad . I topped it up to the top of the glass and road it hard for 74 miles and now it needs oil again as its dropped below the minimum line :-(
And to top it off when in 6th at 50mph and open the throttle I can hear knocking tho its quiet but it big end .
I might just rag it till it blows :-)

Those Rads came up nice Mac
Today I got my cylinder head back. The shop did not do the best of jobs, ended up breaking a bit of the casing to the side where the stud screws in and put a helicoil in. Not happy with it really so new front head time at some stage I think. Either that or it will all need filling in with weld and tidying up and have new holes drilled and threaded.
Anyway I have managed to put everything back together. the front pipe has allready started to bend one of the studs as it's putting pressure on them as the mounting bracket does not spin on the pipe as it's seized.
The sooner I fit the Mori pipes the better.
I gave everything a good clean up while the head was off.

I've had to put some silicone around the front outlet as it was blowing like crazy. I'm leaving it overnght to dry. Also for some strange reason my right can seems to sit further back and the strap is more forward.
I just want the Mori header on now and get everything perfect once and for all. I'm not a happy bunny right now.
