zx7r front end. Which one
zx7r front end. Which one
Fabiostar has suggested that a zx7r front end would be good on the new storm
Which model?
What is likely to be required to fit one?
What about zx10r?

Why not just go for the 929 or 954 blade (whichever one people seem to do on here) and then at least you know lots of people have it and might be able to help?

Re: zx7r front end. Which one
Cost and all you guys on the forum keep buying them

Oh lol, there aren't many ZX7s around, so I would have thought that their front end parts would be more rare.

Re: zx7r front end. Which one
So presumably the front end that is chosen has to be the whole shebang, calipers wheels discs handlebars

Probably not, as you can fit all sorts of calipers to different forks and clip ons to same forks. I guess it'll make it easier if you get the whole lot though inc yolks as it'll mean less buggerationFlatline wrote:So presumably the front end that is chosen has to be the whole shebang, calipers wheels discs handlebars

Re: zx7r front end. Which one
This is something your going to have to do your research on first. There are various options and pretty much anything can be made to fit, but at what expense, availability, the effect on handling, who's done it before etc etc. I think Motorstorm put R1 forks on his Storm with the Yamaha Blue dot brakes.

Re: zx7r front end. Which one
if you go down the zx7r route any front end from 1996 to 2003 are all the same.. id try going on to redmonkey.com there big into there 7s and plenty get broken .. if you end up doing that iv a complete braking system. master cycl/ 6 pot calipers could be had very cheap.. from memory the zx10 forks are shorter and dam expensive to get a hold of a good set.
the older i get,the faster i was

Re: zx7r front end. Which one
Thanks guys, appreciate the input
What I am looking for is the simple option
You are right, anything can be made to fit, but I don't want the headache
All I want to do is change the bits over with maybe the odd bid of fiddling, nothing major
So, the Honda items are pretty much straight swap?
Any other front ends a reasonably simple swap?
Then I will get back to the Ducati but can keep my eyes open in case a front end turns up

Don't forget to take into account a fork service depending on condition. new seals, oil, possibly bushes and you may want to get new linear springs set for your weight.
