to baffle or not to baffle

loving the bike so far. another good ride out at the weekend with some of the zrx guys and they liked it too

that said I am thinking about putting some baffles in the vipers as although I like the noise most of the time it is v loud on the overrun and not sure I want it that loud. Am I alone in this or am I just mad?

No I love the sound from my akrapovic's there not Ott just nice and about the same as debaffeled standard so are excitable at 4:30am
And that's without baffles :-)

If fitting baffles makes you enjoy the vtr more then do it

Yep you are indeed mad ,my stubby viper carbons sound like Armageddon on the overrun that's with the db killers in ,so much fun up the side of cars its stupid ,but bye heck do they know I'm there ,louder the better.

On a serious note, It might be the tone, not the volume that is the problem. They may need re-packing.

on a shut throttle it bangs and pops quite a lot but not on reduced throttle so probably normal for unbaffled. Is repacking easy enough to do? No idea how long they have been on for so might be an idea

and for your neighbours early in the morning, you just need to make sure you are ready to go before you start the bike and dont open the throttle till you are at the main road

Easy enough with the right kit, minimum you need is a drill & a rivet gun. Always use a new drill bit.

many moons ago i owned a rg125 wolf, my first so called proper bike with real gears and what not, it was de-restricted and went well for a 2 stroke 125cc, 80+mph, even with me on it.
but boy did this bike make a lot of noise, i used to push the bike down the road before starting it up in the wee hours, i truly loved that little bike...
you ain't a real biker until you've owned and ridden a two stroke......

I probably had the most fun on my Rickman Montessa 250 Scrambler (okay moto-cross) bike
