Torture, but whats it worth?

Post by nora2004 »

Dont really want to be posting this up but its looking a little bit more likely now, just bought a house and we could really use a bit of extra money to get things sorted etc!

So, this is not an advertisement, im just looking for a rough price I could expect if I were to sell it!

So its a 98' Storm in black, 24k miles on the clock, no history:

The bikes been very very well looked after, Im not going to lie I ride hard, road and track but I maintain and look after it equally as hard, oil and filter changed every 3k miles, as soon as it wants something it gets it regardless of price!

Ive done the valve clearances at 18k then again last month at 24k
OEM cct's changed every year, done last month along with a carb balance and TPS!
Harrison Billet 6 pot calipers, fully stripped and rebuilt last year when I got them, about 1k miles on them
Ebc HH pads front and back
HEL lines in red and front and back
Brembo 19x20/18 front master cylinder, Super Blue Racing fluid
Billet Clip-ons, about 1 inch lower than stock
Renthal Medium grips
Roger Ditchfield reworked forks, oil changed every year
Penske 8983 Shock, sent to Penske Uk 3 months ago for a full strip and rebuild
Shock linkages rebuilt with grease nipples
Harris Rearsets
Braced swingarm with all new bearings and seals
Coerce fork brace
Carbon heel plates
Carbon hugger
Carbon mudguard
Carbon frame guards
Carbon tank protector
Carbon cans
Custom hangers lifting the cans up about 2 inches
Billet fuel cap
Powerbronze light tint DB screen
Undertray
LED rear light with built in indi's
Rear subframe lifted about an inch, however these are just brackets and can be removed
Solo seat cowl
95% of the nuts and bolts are stainless
Powder coated, swingarm, front and rear subframes, linkages, brackets, rearsets, wheels etc etc
Supercorsas, sc3 rear in 180/60 profile, sc2 front

The bike has been down on its side 2 years ago, this resulted in a bent fork leg and bottom yoke, but due to my paranoia of everything having to be balanced, I replaced the front wheel, both stanchions, both lowers and both yokes, obviously as straight as a ruler now!

The Brembo M/C doesnt allow for a brake light switch, so there is just a rear one, and the undertray has no provisions to hang a numberplate, which is what I wanted to get it flat

Due to my off, the bike had a full respray in OEM black, however there are a few marks here and there now since been done as to be expected!

The bike is in very very good condition, little bit of rust on the starter motor but thats it, shocks people when the see its on a R plate! lol

Looks really good mate, sorry to hear you're selling it. Good luck with the sale.
I would imagine you would make more reinstating the standard parts and selling the goodies off.

strangely its only worth a couple of hundred quid more than a bog standard storm of a similar year, as kev said, put it more or less back to standard and sell the nice parts.....

knowing how much money houses gobble up I,d keep the bike and wait a bit to do the house up

are you going to depress all us southern property owners by telling us what you got for your money ??

bike looks great btw

Sorry to hear you may need to sell your lovely bike Nora.

I agree with the others, returning the bike to standard and selling all the goodies separate will be your best bet.

I had thought of that, but over the years Ive either sold or given away most of the std parts now, however if I did end up taking bits off it, id keep the Brembo M/C and the shock for my next bike! lol

After been out on it today and talking it through with the GF, I think thats what Im gonna do, Id only sell it if it was worthwhile, I had a price of 2.5k in my head, although looking through ebay I dont think Id achieve that, and TBF anything less and the money would just get wasted on random shite! lol

Oh yes the great thing about up north, it may be a dump but the house prices are great! lol
