Missfire at high revs

HI.
I'm new to the site and have recently purchased a 97 firestorm.
I love the bike but am totally frustrated with this problem.
When I first started riding the bike I noticed that the bike wass missing quite badly at higher revs or when accelerating quickly.
It was running on a k&n filter, rejetted and gp extreem cans.
I have had the carbs rejetted to standard, replaced filter to a standard one and had the carbs cleaned and balanced. Changed the plugs to irridium and had the fuel lines and tap checked.
The bike runs much better now but the miss is still there although it seems not as bad as before.
Has anybody had a similar problem or idea what's the cause?
I'm wondering if it could be electrical as the fuel side has pretty much been covered.

Have you got the stock cans to try? You have reverted everything back to stock bar the exhausts and if they are less restrictive/freer flowing you may need to compensate with the jetting.
Where are you based mate (I should have looked at your details before I started writing this!) as if you don't have the stock cans I'm sure there will be someone nearby who can loan you some for comparison.

GP Cans so I'm guessing they are a lot shorter than standard. So yes things will have to be tuned for the cans.
