Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
That's better than some of the quotes you have had

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Yep. And I'm being optmistic on that quote, bike valued at 4k (i bloody wish. I was mostly taking the piss) with ohlins declared. Was MCE though, and they have dubious policies.
My friend sent me a link to the thundercat forum about MCE recently, I'll see if I can post it in the Bike Chat section when I get home.
Someone had their bike stolen though, and because it wasn't within like 2 miles of their home MCE didn't cover it in their tpft. I'll have a looksie at 6:15 or whatever

cybercarl wrote:That sounds like a good idea Seb. A less automated system that you can use as you please, a bit like a booster valve. So what does the exhaust valve do technically. Is it like some kind of mechanical baffle/restrictor that allows more or less flow. I guess the fuelling is all adjusted by the ECU to compensate for the changes. Well done on the soldering, you should be getting quite good at that now.![]()
(:-})
when on it restricts the flow in the exhaust until it needs more flow, think it regulates back pressure and noise basically
when you blip the throttle you can see the valve open and shut and constantly adjust its self, when you hold the throttle steady it will still make adjustments constantly opening and closing a little
Yep im not bad at it now mate done a fair bit since i got my gas solder, i'm probably doing it all wrong tho as i got my technique from Benny and he certainty wasn't a careful careful measure twice kinda guy much favoured the bash the crap out of it will be reet man

i assume thats using all new honda parts, will your insurance go for it mate, or will they just write it off as an uneconomical repair?
i think its best you never found out who damaged your bike, you could have ended up in trouble with the law, after you cut parts of their body off and stuck them up the persons own backside.....

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Well with my recent palarvar with MCE I'd say don't bother & avoid like the plague !Virt wrote:Yep. And I'm being optmistic on that quote, bike valued at 4k (i bloody wish. I was mostly taking the piss) with ohlins declared. Was MCE though, and they have dubious policies.

The theft thing in their police is that if it's stolen within 50mtrs (IIRC) from your home its not covered as it should have been at home & locked up.

Today I did this...

These are the CBX master cylinders I bought off Benny. Re painted them the other day as they was a bit tatty. Fitted the shorties he gave me & changed the little grub screws as they was a bit mashed.
