Chinese/Hong Kong HID ebay kit

Post by VenerableArc »

Been waiting for weeks for my HID kit to turn up....arrived today however....im sure there is a part missing. NOT happy. Im adamant that the ballast is missing which is pretty much the main part for the kit. Not even sure how I can bodge it to work if I have issues with the seller. I have sent an email and these photos to try and explain my point.

Oh and please don't all be jealous of my super trendy carpet :D

So this is the whole kit. It is as fully assembled as I could get it.

So these are the connections that I have no idea where they go. According the the diagram the two connections on the right hand side of the photo are supposed to connect to the connector in the middle. The diagram shows 4 individual connector. I have 3, two single and a double. Oh and two extra bullet connectors that aren't shown in the diagram!

Not entirely sure that I am going to get a response from Mr Wong.

Rant over.

Got a reply from the seller. Apparently the ballast isn't included and they suggested I read the description. However the description says the "kit" is ready to go, plug and play. Never mind. I have had some cracking items from over seas so I guess its about time I had a dodgey dealing.

Ive ordered a ballast from a guy in Blackpool so I'm going o have a go at frigging it to work. Connectors looks the same as mine so hoping it will work

New ballast turned up so as soon as I got home I set about seeing if this kit from china actually works. HOLY SH1!....its bright. Left myself blinded for good few minutes as after looking into the projector. Should provide alot more light than the standard candles. Just got to set some time aside now and get the OEM unit apart and make some brackets up for the new kit.

In total I have spent £40 on the kit and the ballasts. They come with a blue angel eye and a red "devil eye". Don't think I will be wiring the "devil eye" up though.

What no pics or links :(
And what size projector did you use ?
Apparently you can squeeze a 3" one in (my mrs would be happier )
I've been thinking about doing this myself and already started the head light (an old one to test on ) but they're easy enough to heat up and open

3" projector fit's nicely... I have a FX in my bike... The OEM one's are getting hard to get/pricey, but theretrofitsource makes a nice enough replica...
Image <--- The result of OCMD... I gave up listing the mods in a sig line...

Currently working on it ATM Lloydie. taking pics and vids as well. Going to make a bit of a how to type thread.
The one I got of EBay was a 2.5". I'm trying to use the innards from the OEM set up to mount it
