Almost There

Post by ANDYGEE »

After three months beavering away in the garage this is the result

This is her as I bought her.

Image

Jobs done
Manual CCT's ( just as well because the front one had rusted solid)
Changed the plugs ( the front one had never been changed by the look of it)
Handle bar conversion to Renthal bars.
Colour codes brake lines
Repaired the fairing and mudguard and done the respray
Rear led lamp
All new indicators
Fitted a blue angel eye into the headlamp (had to buy a scecond hand one to practice on just incase, it was a bugger to remove the glass but once you get past the sealant by warming it up with a hairdryer it wasnt too bad.)
Fitted blue side light and front and rear led's
Fitted a gear indicator, this was a tricky a fiddly job, having to fashion a bracket and base plate to accommodate the sensors, at times it felt that my fingers were sausages.

Fitted new screen
Fitted new mirrors this built in indicators with mirror extenders and also buzzers i have a terrible habit of leaving them on.
Finally i had a seat made to match the bike by Else Upholstery.
I have some ideas for a few more mods in the winter but for now that will do.

This was my first even bike build or mod however you want to say it, i thoroughly enjoyed it and will do it again, next one will be bringing a bike back from the dead, with this one I wanted to ride it all the time so I had to plan my jobs and the time so I was always leaving the bike ridable after each job .

Here she is now.

Well done mate, lovely looking bike. Top choice of colour!!!!
Can you take a photo of the rusted up CCT. Maybe we can place it in the workshop section as a warning to the nay sayers who believe "it won't happen to me!".

I cant I'm afraid, I have already donated them to Bazza, but anyone who ignores the good advice given on this forum is a FOOL, when I read about it on here for the first time I made it my fist job, I waited a month for the cct's to come from USA and it was a month of nervous riding , listening out for all the knocks and rattles, now its done even if they dont need it ,the peace of mind is worth it.

Like the blue respray (one less yellow!) and silver decals  - but sorry all the blingy blue LEDs, blue anodised bits, blue brake lines, blue hugger and blue belly pan & blue seat are IMHO OTT

Wow you must really like blue! that's a fantastic paint job & colour, really striking but not garish.

The gear indicator looks nice & bright, can you dull it down a bit at night?

Fantastic job matey! :)

The extra lighting should make you nice & visible, but with all the blue bits & lighting it's not to my (questionable!) taste though.

Well done sir :)

Well as another thread reference powder coating wheels said don't always other people's opinions a bike is part of you I agree the led's look silly but if he is happy with his bike then good luck to him and as for getting rid of another yellow one well its an elite club and some just cant handle it so its your bike mate if you feel good looking at it and riding it then good for you
