what have you done to your "bike" today

some of these cyclist are dangerous.

I have juts had the same thing in London. It's rush hour and everyone rushing home from work and the cyclist are juts taking the piss. There is so many of them that it like London to Brighton They don't just stick to the cycle lanes or the left side of the road but are all over the place. Some even on the broken white lines down the centre of the road amongst the motorbikes and scooter, it's a battleground. Anyway I spat flames out at one of them and made him jump, he almost fell off his bike

Seb that is looking very good, nice and clean and the can looks great. The bit of carbon wrap looks the part as well.

Well, the swing arm/frame is coming along nicely, just needs a quick 'flick' over now and ta dah....Hats off to Dave, he's been doing an 'hour here' and 'hour and there' in-between his night shifts. This was Bennys Black swing arm before set to work on it..



Many tender loving hours later and some power tools to hand in between Daves night shifts:

We're getting there, needs a quick flick over.. New chain and sprocket ordered as wouldn't do to put old grubby one back on now, and my excuse, It's been on for a year so time for a change..lol.....


I think with Jamies photos of the duc and Jazz's photos of the wheels, I'm gonna go for Gold.. Will probably look the best out of all the options available... Thanks guys for your help, much appreciated..

Dave reckons off n on in between his night shifts, 20 hours and still a bit to go, some more on the frame and a bit of last little bit of polishing on the swing arm with a soft cloth
Seat is on order, wheels land Wed and will be taken next week for powder coating and seriously thinking of doing my brake callipers Red as they'd go lovely against Gold wheels! It just popped into my head tonight lol.. Poor Dave, his bike next but my list keeps growing!

I had a polished frame and swing arm on my old Marlboro blade and it was fun looking after it even with Belgom alu .
I would never polish one myself way to labour intensive , I did a set of wheels once and I couldn't get a mirror finish so spat my dummy out and painted them .
They do look very nice when kept tip top

Same here. Not without the right tools anyway. Dave's been doing it the easy way....in a nice warm garage with electric, not fighting the weather, air tools, and probably a polishing/buffing wheel somewhere, and a missis to bring out the refreshments and give words of encouragement.

It does look good, but I think I would have taken the frame of the bike.

I removed the renthal sand top yoke and fitted clip ons .

I picked up some clocks that match the mileage for the 52 plate frame .
As I'm off today and the bike is in bits So I started the race clocks for miss piggy .
I didn't want speedo and it wouldn't fit with clip ons (early blade front end )
So out came the dermal and soldering iron .


Now I just need the little clock loom to finish them off .

The clocks are 200 miles out (under) from the last mot it had so I will have to take it the long long way to the mot station when the time comes

Stripped down the rear end to remove chain & sprockets.

Cleaned about 14 years of crud from under the sprocket cover...hmmm nice.

Gave up at 18.30

Will refit tomorrow.

Superb the right tool for the right job.

I had a tonne of crud behind my sprocket cover also. It had a good clean with neat Bilt Hamber Surfex which made light work of it and sorted it right out.

We have the tools so labour saving time wise, I'm the one who gets all uppety about the cleaning and polishing, can't remember last time Dave actually washed a bike, I do it all, BUT I don't mind in the slightest! I wouldn't want my wheels done like that as i think the maintenance of the wheels would be a lot higher and more risky on the road but having the tools is the way to go..

It does look good, but I think I would have taken the frame of the bike. Can't say the garage is warm like, it's big and unless he puts a calor gas heater on Yeah, we have a good compressor, bought an air sander and air buffer for applying the polishing pads. The frame went back on cos I'm going out on the bike, he only started the frame so taking his time with it. Yeah I make him cups of tea and even though he has the old micro in there, they still come back cold lol..When he's done with my bike, he's going to make a start on his, but I'm really happy as it is way better than it was before by a mile and yeah, the black swing arm that was bennys, was originally bought for Daves bike as his was looking worse than mine and shameful against his nice paint job and I just thought that might look better on his bike, but then we decided to go for it so..But I'm very happy to have such a handy hubby!.When it's all done and got wheels done and seat back, next couple of weeks..will post up ..
