It will keep him off for a while, but my storm was his first v-twin and he really loves it. Once the restrictors come out he will be asking for rides on it every time I ride down to see him, or he rides up to visit. There's no doubt about it
He said to me that the bike he wanted to buy most was another VTR, but he didn't buy one for the same reason as not buying a VFR - we already have one in the family and there's little point owning 2 - so he got the sprint st instead. He was originally looking at a Falco I think, but I told him I'd steal it constantly. He went for a mille cause he had a feeling I wouldn't like riding it, which I didn't
, but it's a different type of bike to the 'storm still. It's not as calm, it has to be ridden fast because it's incredibly top heavy with a rider on it. Junctions and other low-ish speed stuff makes it feel like it's going to drop..
The only thing that's keeping him off the storm is the pain I'd inflict if he ruins its' immaculate condition riding it in the winter and forgetting to do something, the restrictors I'm fitting soon and the fact it's got my disc lock on it and the key is always with me
