Hi guys.
Looking at doing some bits to storm over winter whileim recovering from my back op.
Just got a few question is all can I get some pointers please!
1) Had a engine problem which I've spoken to God Mon about, but thinking of just replacing the lump, how much should I expect to pay for a engine and what sort of millage should I be looking at?
And issues with swooping lumps over?
2) I've got a mate that's striping a f1 class outfit and has some fcr's what size are recommended for storms and how easy/hard are they to get working, or shell I drop that idea?
3) found there's a few storms appeared in my area recently so want to make mine stand out a bit, what bits and how easy is the single sided swing arm conversion?
4) what's the easiest front end to fit?, and I remember someone fitting a fire blade dash easy or not?
Sorry guys I'm just bored and want to mess around with the storm

Re: A number of questions
engine prices vary and it seems pot luck, i'd buy one from a salvage bike and try to hear it running first.....
as for front ends
early blade
and 2000/2003 blades are easy enough, but you can go for R1,zx10r and many other which include radial calipers. i went for the easier optiom of a 2002 blade front end, you won't get much change from £600 tho, you'll need, forks, yokes, wheel, mudguard, discs, spindle. although standard length brake lines and calipers can be made to fit without any problems, you'll also need 50mm bar risers with a rise of 35mm because the forks are shorter and the clip-ons attach below the top yoke rather than above on the storm, lastly you'll need to space your rads back 10mm, so they don't get it the way of the steering lock.
i hope all this makes sense.....

Fcr carbs 41mm with tps

Re: A number of questions
Thanks guys,
Will a sp1/2 dash board/clocks work with the storm?
I know someone on here was messing about with air box's and ram air did who ever it was finish it?
As that was something else I was interested in.

I recall asking this many, many moons ago. Before I got my storm, so end of last year/first 3 weeks of this year.TonyW650 wrote:Thanks guys,

I believe they said it was possible and that someone had done it on the superhawk forum (me thinks?). It will just require a bit of effort and fiddling
Slowly approaching the more bikes than birthdays achievement
Re: A number of questions
Someone would be me, then...
It does work, although mikstr will show up in ten minutes confirming he was unable to get it to work, for reasons we haven't quite been able to work out...
It requires you to cut-n-splice the wiring harness, wire for wire, and to get the correct plug for the SP clocks, and you need to swap to a SP temperature sensor... But other than that, it's pretty much compatible...
But, IMHO it's pretty ugly, really... I chose the CBR 1000RR 04'-07' cluster, which is a bit nicer...

Re: A number of questions
As for the easiest swap of USD front ends, it's probably a 929/954 front end, which is pretty much bolt on for the entire front end, save for grinding the steering stops a little, and possibly moving the radiators to save some wear and tear on the hoses...
