What a noise

Post by PARSLEYRIPPER »

Just undid the allen bolts and slid the baffles out of the Scorpions :D crikey moses what a fantastic noise, just had a good blast through the gears and WOW. An increase in performance too, I am not seeing any downsides to this mod at all. 8)

Te he, to make it worse I live in a valley and the noise echoes for miles  mint ha ha ha
To be honest though its a better warning to the Deer that I might be coming so it could be a good safety feature, dont think it will become legal though

I'm not sure if noise scares Deer off. Don't they get dazzled by lights and stand in front like a hypnotized zombie. It will certainly help with pedestrians if you pop over to the mainland. :biggrin

Dunno really... I can safely say that my CBR 600 with about as near as open pipes, once a long time ago did not scare the bastids off, as I cleaved one in half, ending that bike permanently... And, so far the 4 wheeled monstrosity my dad calls a car, (Cuda with a big ass supercharged hemi, nearly straight pipes) is so far responsible for two of them ending their lives, so they are either deaf, or just dumb...

I got a set of scorpions, no baffles. I only went to the bike shop to look around, the bloke fired up my bike (no baffles) and just there and then i bought it!!! Lol, previous owner stuck em on and chucked the baffles away.
Recently fitted exhaust cams for inlets and im sure it sounds slightly louder but also deeper noise. Want to hear a standard engine with scorpions to compare. Didnt tell my missus i seaped the cams as she moans when i modify it, always tells me to leave it alne, but even she said it was louder! Might be just cos its properly set up now, dnt know, but sounds great

I am a sucker for a sweet sounding bike and if I am honest I would buy mine on the spot just based on exhaust noise. I have bought so many vehicles because of how they sound :) its half the fun. Some sad feck at work said my bike is ridiculous and sounds like I am doing 80mph when I am only doing 20mph.....I personally think hes missing the point. He rides a ZX12 with standard exhausts.......say no more
