Its not a Storm, but it sure displays some V-Twin development.

I remember people saying that in 1984 when i had a KTM250 EXC.
And they only 2 or 3 other bikes in their range at that time.
Now they pretty much own the Junior MX scene world wide, Own the Enduro scene in all classes, Good representation in MX and have taken a big slice in the Adventure Bike market, a Motard range, and now a range of road bikes.
Bought out Husaberg, Bought out someone else to lately...

They have done well for a shite bike manufacture.

Owned a few KTM's, i think what i liked most about them, is they were right to go straight out of the crate.
No extra money to spend on quality components or removing stuff.... or *cough cough* endless mods :)

I have no idea how all this equates to their entry in to road bikes.
Maybe it will break, as they have quoted 15,000K service intervals.

+1 If any of you have seen one in bits you'd see. Talk about under engineered.
Not sure about these big V motors, but I think they're still service after so many hours not miles?

I always thought KTM's were well put together, especially given their heritage. I like the idea of them - don't know anyone who's owned one though. Looking at that Super Duke you'd need to spend heavy on muscle protein and gym membership I reckon to really get a grin going :D

I have two mates who bought them and sold them pretty quickly afterwards - it looks like it should be a good idea but in practice, many problems and not liked by them. I rode an 1190 Adventure - massive power but very vibey and a lot of turbulence and I could hustle my TDM900 better.

A 1200 V twin Honda is what we would all have liked, but sadly will never get :(

I can't really argue one way or the other about reliability of ktm, but still got to give them credit for standing by their balls out approach to their products. I think it's a beautiful bike and looking at the video they have certainly put a rapid package together.
Some companies get a rough time over their reputation. I was well warned about Aprillia, but still didn't stop me...
Would still have chicken stripes inches wide if it was mine...

They wouldn't let Ewan have a bike to go 'long way round'. Biggest pr mistake they ever made, I don't buy bikes off nasty people!
