Annoying misfire

Post by Baldy »

Just got the bike 1999 24,000 miles had front head recently replaced due to CCT failure, this is as much history i have got for it. Bought it at a good price as it has an intermittant misfire on the rear cylinder, there seems to no telling when it may happen sometimes at tickover runs on 1 other times its ok also happens when i'm riding although does appear to clear at higher revs.
Any ideas or knowledge of common faults that could cause it?

Assuming the pligs have been changed it is worth fitting a new rear coil as a starting point........or better still convert them both to stick coils as it is a good mod, and the parts will be much newer than any replacememt Storm Coil

Done the plugs...think i might try the stick coil mod.

Has anyone got any info on this, which coils to use and any adaptations needed etc?

Stick coils fitted running nicely on both pots, need to find time for the manual CCTs now.
