My mummy has a bike licence, but I think she'd go to an early grave on my Storm.

Cool mother you've got there VTRgirl.
Mine just looks at the bike, and with a touch of old age annoyance says, 'It's very loud isn't?'. :D

Ummm... was referring to the scary prospect of you actually turning out to be my mother...  :? 8O only recently, after trying for ten years, have i even got my mother on the back seat. and that was only for a blanket run (average speed about 4kph). had the intercoms hooked up so we could "chat", but all that achieved was allowing me to hear every gasp as we rounded corners at a deathdefying 3kph  .

In my excitement, iold her i was buying some hot pipes & after painstakingly explaining what that meant, she asked with undisguised horror, "that's not going to make it even louder is it?". i think i finally got my point across  8) .

btw, finally made it to bed a bit after 5am. Was supposed to start work at 12:30, but they rang around 10 (waking me up...) & asked me to change to night duty for the next three nights... blessing in disguise me thinks!

LOL Don't get me wrong everybody is entitled to enjoy whatever sport they like, but I'm afraid I can't stand cricket either, I think it stems from years ago, myself and many others had to endure the game of cricket every summer, at work on the radio. IMO some sports are OK on the radio but cricket is not one of them, I'd rather watch paint dry :!:

Did you work for a radio station? My brother-in-law (well, ex) used to (maybe still does) do all the cricket commentary on one of the major Brisbane stations. He now does the news on the ABC.

Welcome to the world of VTR1000.org!!! Whatever you start talking about and discussing and canvassing opinion for, it always ending up talking about something totally unrelated.

I ask whether people like my bike colour and then end up having an argument about the state of the climate and its deterioration in the Northern Hemisphere.

Don't ever expect to get a straight answer from these guys

I have only been a member for a little while but i am learning quickly.

Soon i will be the master ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...........

See!! I'm losing it already :? :? :? :? 8O 8O 8O :D :(

Good to see you've come over to the dark side so quickly. Now you'll fit straight in :D Took me a while too, but they broke me eventually and I can't even remember what I first asked about :( 8) it's been a horrifying nightmare ever since.
we are just showing how diverse our conversational ability is

So what was it you asked?? Something about colour on a bike or something??

The trick is to jump back on board after the thread has been hijacked & steer the topic back to what you originally wanted to talk about. Mind you, you said you hate, sorry, loathe cricket (as any normal person would), and the latest posts here seem to be from like-minded people, so really, you should be quite chuffed. Normally the person who starts the thread gets ousted altogether as the topic turns to something, not only unrelated, but completely uninteresting to them. If you detest cricket so much, then this topic should be entirely pleasing to you.
