Had a look at my wheels today and decided they needed a bit more black, so got me another can of 2k and blew over them again. ( 3 cans used ).

Now I'm a bit worried that all that paint will add to the unsprung weight of the bike, and the wheels being heavier will add to the gyroscopic effect, meaning it wont want to turn in.

So, to counteract this, I will add a 6mm shock spacer at the rear, and pull the forks through the yokes a little, but then it may be a bit unstable, especially in the more bumpy turns.

So, to counteract this, I'll have to take out a loan and order an Ohlins Steering damper...only the best will do.

Or....I could stop talking like a tw@, and just ride the fcuking thing !!!!!!

How about this for a middle ground... You do whatever you like to your bike... And feel or not feel it as much as you want...

But I can feel the difference those 5-10-15 mm does to the handling of the bike if and when I change things... So I'll refrain from flaming you about what you do, but you get a small one for the statement about what I can and cannot feel... Like other said, I'll ride the bike two blocks and then I'll tell you if you have a 3 mm, 6 mm or no shock spacer on there...

Took the fairings off the 954,

cleaned and degreased them inside,

changed oil and filter on it and flushed it clean too,

painted radiator

put it back together

Agree there is or there was a big difference in corner tip in for me with the 6mm shock spacer when i had the 954 front on the bike, never tried it with the standard front but should imagine i would be able to tell

Had a busy one in the garage today. Put tyres onto newly painted wheels. While the rear wheel was out I decided to have a good clean around the swingarm, and removed and greased up the rear suspension linkages. Balanced and fitted wheels and now black belly pan/cowl ( whatever you wanna call it ).





Looking much better with black wheels I think.

Then gave the filler on my 19L tank a rub down, and put a couple of coats of primer on.

I've never stripped a modern road bike down as much as this before, so was a little nervous! I can't believe how a fully functioning bike can be reduced to this in a matter of hours!

Just need to get engine out etc & prepare everything for powder coat. Oh also got a fireblade swingarm so I can transfer the brace etc

I'm more nervous about trying to put it all back together properly!!!



It's a good test for my sex swing, I wouldn't want anyone suing me if it broke!
