GRAB RAIL FEAR
GRAB RAIL FEAR
I HAVE HEARD THAT THE GRAB RAILS CAN SNAP OFF WHICH REALLY WORRIES ME. I NEED TO BUY ONE AND WOULD LIKE SOME ADVICE PLEASE. MANY THANKS, CHARLIE.
Why not tie one end of a rope on to an anchor and the other end of the rope to the grab rail, open the throttle full whack and see how much smoke comes off your back wheel - if you get a lot of smoke, then you have a good grab rail, but if you find yourself travelling at +100mph in seconds you have a crap grab rail. Simple
Sorry - its friday and I'm on the doss

I like that so much I'd be tempted to try it if I had a grab rail.pmcq wrote:Why not tie one end of a rope on to an anchor and the other end of the rope to the grab rail, open the throttle full whack and see how much smoke comes off your back wheel - if you get a lot of smoke, then you have a good grab rail, but if you find yourself travelling at +100mph in seconds you have a crap grab rail.

If you ate yourself would you become twice as big or simply disappear?

some people, well three so far, including myself have had problems with the rentec racks cracking, or in my case, shearing completely, although it did last me a few years and lugged a fair amount of weight, well over the poxy 2Kg limit as stated by the makers.

2kg? That's pathetic! What's the point? May as well shove stuff down your jacket. There are two major brands of rack over here & both have a 10kg limit, although I've heard of both breaking with less than the 10kg on board. I wouldn't put a rack on my storm anyway. Just doesn't look the part.kevg wrote:some people, well three so far, including myself have had problems with the rentec racks cracking, or in my case, shearing completely, although it did last me a few years and lugged a fair amount of weight, well over the poxy 2Kg limit as stated by the makers.
