Itinery so far (v rough)
Sunday, hit the M4 to Cardiff, see a mate whose just had a lil girl. Wet the babys head and crawl into a hostel.
Monday, tootle through wales to Crash out at another hostel on the west coast. More drinking. Possibly skinny dipping.
Tuesday, MUST wake up in time for the 930 ferry at Fishguard.
Get into Ireland about 1230 (the ports name temporarily escapes me).
Ride along the coast to Cork.
Stay the night there (still need to find a hostel).
Drink and be merry.
Try to out "loose cannon" the country of "loose cannons".
A task made more likely as Ive given up smoking recently and am feeling WIRED.
Tuesday, hit the ring of kerry...

Im just glad that Im not going to end up doing the trip on the ol pizza delivery vehicle (Bandit 650).
My bro has a court appearance for speeding when he gets back (already got 6 points and caught doing 120) so we better make the most of it.

Right, finally got off my ass and sorted out a rough plan for the bike hol.

Tue 9 August - arrive Rosslare at about 1230.
Estimate 3 hours to get to Cork.
Staying in Cork for lots of drinking and merriment.
Wed 10th
Cork to Killkarney (120m 3h 18).
Taking the N71 cos I really like the sound of the coast road that winds up through the mountains and a tunnel to pop out at Killkarney.
I have not yet sorted accommodation there yet so any thoughts?
Thu 11th
Its just gotta be the ring of Kerry in the morning and then off to the Dingle Peninsula in the afternoon.
Cant wait to check out the Tig Slea Head for a cuppa en route and I have to ask Murphys Pub if they have any rooms for Thu nite.
Friday 12th
Long haul back from Dingle to Killkarney in the morning then onto either waterford of wexford for the night (depending on how nackered we are).
Sat 13th
Ferry departs 930 - really DONT want to miss it.

hair pins on a sunny sunny day
just been through Killarney national park. Fantastic hair pins, great views. Ring of Kerry tomorrow. Then hammer it back through Cork to Waterford. Looking forward to doing the N25 at about 6am. Great bit of tarmak

I'd forgotten how people react when you pull up behind them on a big bike! I've just started doing a twice weekly commute of about 60 miles each way, and 99.9% of cars pull over to let you past. It's great.
Mind how you go though, there are a few unmarked ones out there all right, all standard looking Mondeos!

Glad you enjoyed the Irish roads. The N25 is nice alright, shame I don't get to do it more often. Too bad we could not have met up with some of the lads.
Anyway, the average mph is indeed 130mph. Impressive! You must have been awful keen to get on that boat?!?! Did you get into trouble with the locals??
