race bike donations...

Post by Ckennedy »

With all this talk of track/race bikes and the fact I have been wanting to put one together for a while I thought I would put this out there....

So I want to build a race/track bike but due to having to pay for a wedding I can not afford to shell out the money all in one go. So I am asking, rather nicely, if any of you have spare parts would you either donate them to the project or be willing to hold them till I have the money to pay for them? Prices and payment can be talked about over PM's. If you do not mind a payment plan where I pay a certain amount each month I can do that but again that will be done over PM.

If I can get the bike together ready for next year that would be great but if not then no worries. Any parts that are donated or heavily discounted I shall get a sticker of your forum name made up and get it on the body work ready for its first day on the track as a thank you  if anyone works in CNC and would like to make something for the bike please feel free to send me what you can make, even something small and your company name can go on the bike too

I don't want to be sounding needy or anything so please do not take this post the wrong way. No offence is meant and if no one can spare anything I fully understand, just thought I'd test the water. I would like to hope that people I have bought stuff from in the past would be able to back up me paying for stuff

Anyway hopefully I having caused any offence and not broken any rules, sorry if I have it was not intended.

Thanks lumpy

When I eventually get one built I want to show where the bike has come from. I.e donation of parts or discounted parts and this forum. This place and the people have become a part of my life and I would like to show that when completed. So any help with it is more than welcome and will be showed for in the way of stickers or what ever can be done. It will certainly have the forum name stickered on it somewhere

Not bothered about nice stuff just yet. As long as I can get a bike together in working order I don't mind. I can do body repair work myself as well as most other things. So not everything has to be in fantastic condition. If someone had a smashed up storm I'd be willing to sort out paying for it somehow and working from there but I like the idea of starting it from scratch and putting it all together myself or maybe with a little help.

Lloyd is there still room in that garage for another bike?

Thanks Marty. Every little helps

Fair enough. I'll contact you once I'm in a position to send some money over

If you need a garage, once spring starts coming back round there's a possibility we might have some space in our garage if you need. Depends how long we're keeping my dads' bike here though, and the hornet..

I can make room but you'll have to give me a hand making some sort of proper storage system

The scooter should be gone the week end :-)

Money is very thoughtful ymv but I also feel bad asking for it. I would feel comfier if it was parts. No offence. Use the money to buy yourself some new goodies and I'll have the old stuff

Don't mind giving you a hand with diy. Just make sure the coffee keeps coming

Well I reckon that's all your wedding gifts from us lot sorted! But you're unlikely to receive anything larger than what will fit in a tank bag on the big day! :D
