Boy Racer vs the Storm?

Post by pmcq »

A lovely bright summer evening it was yesterday and surely as ever a small spin was in order after the dinner. So off I went, just a nice leisurely spin round my usual 'block'. Then coming out of the local town a small yellow 'souped up boy racer fast and furious' peugeot 106 comes out of a housing estate quite fast - so much so that he ended up swinging half way out on to the other side of the road. He then accelerated quite fast so I decided to follow - when he reached 45mph I decided to back down as we were in a 30 zone. Now knowing the road as I do I thought to myself 'hmmmm he's going a bit quick for that S bend up ahead' I then saw what I thought was the best peice of handbrake cornering i've ever seen only to realise that he'd just lost the back end of the car as he hit the first bit of the corner. He then managed to spin the car 360 degrees and smash through a wall on the opposite side of the road and annililate the front of the car. By the time I pulled over to see if he was ok, he was outside his car (probably in a state of shock), running around, lighting up, and began to kick his polished but completely sh*gged pride and joy. After numerous attempts of asking him if he was ok, I gave up and got back on my bike. He never one looked at me. Luckily the guy was ok and no one was driving on the other side of the road.

So whats the moral of this story?? I dunno - 2 wheels and 4 wheels are completely different animals. Or maybe learn the road before hairing into a sharp bend.

This guy now has no car, pickup charges, wall repairs, and possibly a speeding fine. I almost feel sorry for him...

Ride safe everyone. (This is the second accident I've witnessed in 3 weeks!) :?

Another one of the idiots in to cars for all the wrong reasons? MOre intersted in the ALPINE stereo than driving properly. So much nicer on bikes, rare to find a t*sser like that live more than 2 weeks. Darwin rules.

Unfortunately there are plenty of those types of drivers around London (particularly east) and too many bikers getting hit by them..

Makes you shudder

pmcq,

His behaviour and attitude caused the accident in the first place. I really feel that you should consider reporting him to the local traffic cops.
He was lucky that you did not have dinner any earlier and were on your way back home - coming through the S-bend in the opposite direction.... Think about it....

Report the b*st*rd to the police. Any chance of putting him off the road for longer should be used to the full. :x

PMCQ,
What part of Dublin are you in? I'm hangin' round @ the west side.
Seen a few (red) VTR's about when going into work (via the N3). Not you by any chance?

Well I come up the M1 and filter my way down that car park known as the M50!! Its like a day's work done before I even get to work having to concentrate on those dreaded 'lane jumpers' you know those car drivers who change lanes - so fast that the indicator only comes on when they are half way across, if it even comes on!!! They are the worst. Or those idiot who sit in the middle of the lane blocking your path. Thankfully with the Storm all I need is a quick flick of the throttle to let someone know I am behind them! Its great :)

Don't worry about that juggler Mate, just let us know where you are so we can stay away from you  You don't want to "witness" one of us making a prat of ourselves :P

Pmcq, definately ring the local station about that one. He may not have reported that to the Gardai as he knew he was in the wrong and there were no injuries, but some poor fool is going to have to pay out for the wall he went through.
Clearly of "dangerous driving" or "driving without due care and attention". I'd prefer to think that a pillock like that isn't hooning around the roads!!
