A lovely bright summer evening it was yesterday and surely as ever a small spin was in order after the dinner. So off I went, just a nice leisurely spin round my usual 'block'. Then coming out of the local town a small yellow 'souped up boy racer fast and furious' peugeot 106 comes out of a housing estate quite fast - so much so that he ended up swinging half way out on to the other side of the road. He then accelerated quite fast so I decided to follow - when he reached 45mph I decided to back down as we were in a 30 zone. Now knowing the road as I do I thought to myself 'hmmmm he's going a bit quick for that S bend up ahead' I then saw what I thought was the best peice of handbrake cornering i've ever seen only to realise that he'd just lost the back end of the car as he hit the first bit of the corner. He then managed to spin the car 360 degrees and smash through a wall on the opposite side of the road and annililate the front of the car. By the time I pulled over to see if he was ok, he was outside his car (probably in a state of shock), running around, lighting up, and began to kick his polished but completely sh*gged pride and joy. After numerous attempts of asking him if he was ok, I gave up and got back on my bike. He never one looked at me. Luckily the guy was ok and no one was driving on the other side of the road.
So whats the moral of this story?? I dunno - 2 wheels and 4 wheels are completely different animals. Or maybe learn the road before hairing into a sharp bend.
This guy now has no car, pickup charges, wall repairs, and possibly a speeding fine. I almost feel sorry for him...
Ride safe everyone. (This is the second accident I've witnessed in 3 weeks!)
