Replacing wheel bearings

Post by toonarmy »

Front and rear do I put grease in any of the dust covers or just fit them dry?

If you have bought sealed bearings (normally 2RS type) then just fit them dry (although if the bearing is sealed they are not really needed)

give the spindles and spacers a good clean and put some grease on them before you slide them in. Torque up correctly. :D

No need to put grease in dust seals. Maybe a little smear around the edge to help get them in though

It is advisable to fill the back of the seal with grease as it keeps the spring in place when knocking it into place.
