MCCT's. Best place to buy anyone?

This post is probably better off in the wanted part of sales + wants but I don't have 50 posts yet so cannot post there. Apologies in advance if posting this here is wrong!

Anyway, would there be anyone out there who could point me in the right direction for MCCT's at a reasonable price please? Can order via flea-bay for a decent price from across the pond but firstly, I like to promote British sellers when feasible and secondly, I worry slightly about that nasty little import tax thing of which I'm not entirely sure how it works!

I've seen an old post of someone who sold them via the forum but have had no response from the email address provided in about a week!

Got mine from Rob de hoo, (VTRdh) on here. They Kriegers, top quality parts and service and the price he quotes is the price you pay . But! Plenty of the guys on here use bazza with good reports

I sent him some autos to convert so he has a least one pair when he gets around to doing them.

Ahh, now I'm assuming (correct accordingly) that Bazza converts the auto's to manuals?

Can see how that would be very cost affective and mechanically effective all at the same time. Is anyone able to explain the procedure or have an illustration of the internals by any chance?

Basically its a coach bolt through the centre of the old housing with some adjusting and locking bolts. If you search for "coach bolt" that will give you a lead on how its done

Looking at that, my assumption is the bolt has a bearing around its neck? The plunger just slides up and down the bolt controlled by relevant tension on the spring?!

So is the spring is the most commonly failing part through fatigue? No surprise considering how the coil of thin wire is under considerable stress constantly.

Looking at it, I'm more intrigued to see what size thread you'd get away with at the tip of the tensioner... Just gut it, drill it and feed a relevant sized quality SS bolt down there (length dependent with unwanted flex/ vibration in mind) whilst still taking advantage of the plunger...

Reading a mod post, the the mod is a piece of 8mm bar or so some say. Would you know if it's a 9mm thread with 1mm pitch or 10mm with 2mm pitch etc etc? Just wondering because the un-threaded diameter seems to be 8mm on the plunger, what type/ size of thread would be needed if gutting the tensioner and would there be relevant thread to be safe?

But, looks aside, this could be a substantially affordable and viable method that even the simplest DIY'ers could benefit from... Could be a good step-by-step topic for all to share...
