Re: Suzuki Bandit. RIP
Most people ive ever met on bandits think theyre the fastest bike on the road+think they're hard when its streetfightered lol
always get the impression theyre a "jack of all trades/master of wombles all"

Mate has one (600), same age as my Storm. It's not bad, but feels like the frame is hinged in the middle when pushed - might just be his one though!callam_nffc wrote:Most people ive ever met on bandits think theyre the fastest bike on the road+think they're hard when its streetfightered lol

I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!
Re: Suzuki Bandit. RIP
They were always a parts bin bike from when they first came out, but there's somthing about them.

I was always under the impression it was essentially a hornet under a different name.. So you can still get a hornet if you have the desire

Slowly approaching the more bikes than birthdays achievement
Re: Suzuki Bandit. RIP
I agree, well the 1200 version anyway, as I was intending to have a 1200 Bandit myself after testing riding one a good many years ago. It won me over after test riding a Honda CBR600, Honda CBR900 fireblade and a Suzuki GSXR750 as some of you will already know. That was until I spotted the Firestorm in our local bike shop and test rode that. The rest is history as they sayKev L wrote: but there's somthing about them.

Re: Suzuki Bandit. RIP
The bandit was always greater than the sum of it's parts, but the VTR has some additional soul and character.
I can understand folk getting into them though.

Re: Suzuki Bandit. RIP
I had 2 the old 600 & a 1200 both did the job well, found the 1200 just too heavy for my frame:) Well one good thing is the price will start to rise as they gain classic status. Might be time to find a mint cheap unmolested one, mind you that will be a rarity.

More hope of finding an 18 yr old virgin in Rugby..............ok bad example, a 14 year old virgin in Essex then!!!!darkember wrote:I had 2 the old 600 & a 1200 both did the job well, found the 1200 just too heavy for my frame:) Well one good thing is the price will start to rise as they gain classic status. My mate had a 600 bumholebandit as his first bike, I had an SV650N at the same time, after jumping off the SV and on to the bandit I just couldn't believe how pants it felt! I couldn't get the front wheel off the ground even if I murdered the clutch!
Good first bike I should imagine though. Bet the 1200 was a totally different animal.

Re: Suzuki Bandit. RIP
Chric, all the SV's need is a bit of corrosion inhibiting, my SV gave me 2 years of motorcycling fun! Covered over 20,000 miles in the first year, just weekend riding.
I only got rid of it because, I wrote it off
