Forgive me if I haven't looked properly, but...

Post by leevtr »

....Partial/full bafflectomy....Does the bike run ok with either/both or does it lead to fuelling issues. Put my standard cans on the other day and actually enjoyed the relative peace. Maybe would like something a bit louder ( more bassy boom than loud roar ) but kind of like the standard look.
Cheers in advance.

Chisel out the baffles, stick in some earplugs and you'll be back to square one. Except old men will turn to look admirably, dogs will pull at their lead and bark at you and small kids will shout for you to pull a wheely...
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

No fuelling mods required.

If you like the quietness of standard cans but want it just a tad fruitier, Try Drilling 4x 8mm holes, 12, 3, 6, & 9 o clock...

More fruit Sir...drill em out to 10mm or drill another 4x 8mm holes.

To go the hole full fat de baff join up holes a rip the baffles out.

I went straight for the full fat option straight off & the difference in noise is very impressive.

I have a spare set of standard cans if you wanna have a play around & still keep your standard cans standard.

PM for a deal.

Thought I'd read somewhere it can mess up the fuelling. Might have a play with mine when I get a minute. The full fat does sound quite nice, not so much bark but very bassy, but I thnk I want the bike looking as original as possible, hence removing the other

It makes me sick, people interfering with a perfectly good tricked Storm and messing about with unnecessary modifications to make it "stock"!!!!!

Full fat version certainly messes with the fueling, big time... It's essentially removing more than half of the back pressure from the chamber system, since you are more or less running an open pipe that exits into the larger exhaust body, acting like an echo chamber really, more than an silencer...

Drilling holes for the halfway stage is a much, much better option, you then keep the chambers in place, but bleed off some pressure at certain revs, and gain noise and better characteristics, more than loose anything...

Sorry to steal your thread Lee, however seems appropriate to ask here.

If I do a partial bafflectomy on my standard exhausts, will I have to remove the PAIR system or will it not affect it?

( I assume the former but I have no idea )

I still have to warm the bike up and I've had one complaint already ( utter tw@ ). There is no way I can get away with the renegades. At all.

It took a 10 minute argument to tell them I have to use choke at 8am to start the bike, and that my bike does not have loud exhausts. It's completely standard ffs. I don't go above 2k in the complex, and that's only while it's on choke. I never touch the throttle :(

Ideally I'd love to, but I live in rented accomodation so they'd make another complaint to the landlord and then I'd probably get kicked out for being aggressive or some sh1t. Moving out next year to somewhere of my own with some mates so that's probably when I'll start having some proper fun
