Brough Superior

Post by Kev L »

Well it looks like another British marque from the past may be rising like a Pheonix from the flames...... blah, blah.

The Brough Superior (Inferior) name will be on a Moto 2 bike next year and on a V twin roadbike to be unveiled at the Milan show according to info on Visordown -

http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-new ... 23407.html

The article had a shot of the Vtwin road bike, with Henry Cole on it, earlier but that appears to have been pulled.

I take it the geezer with the ridiculous chin is jay leno ??
if its expensive he will have one ! he has a huge collection of cars and bikes.

not sure I really see the point in calling anything new a brough because it wont have anything to do with those old classics I guess?

That's the Moto 2 bike, so it's got the Honda 600RR control engine. The Brough bit is the carbon fibre monocoque chassis. Hope they have better luck than Ducati with that.

Some shot's of the new road bike -

I like the lines of it, harks back to the classic Brough but with a twist.

Hmm, I'm loving that. Ba$tard EuroMillions fix (in my not winning) means I'll have to forego and get the The Hound sorted instead!

They have no idea of heritage. It needs two little chromed springs under the rear edge of the seat pad.......
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Lol, you're right Tony, that would complete it - might start knocking some up, aftermarket, only £250 the pair!!

Yes the " Brough " motorcycle ,, claim to fame was that poor
"Lawrence of Arabia" of yesteryear had a fatal collision on his
silky smooth Brough when swerving to miss a couple of boys who were cycling in
a country lane.... Lawrence came off his machine and never recovered from
injuries.... Yes the name lives on again..

I like that!
I don't know if it's worth the 50k price ticket though. If they were really serious about selling them and wanted to keep it at a premium price, £30k would be more than enough to keep it beyound most punters.
