How would you describe the song of a dying CCT?

Post by Virt »

Pulled in at ASDA on my way home today to buy a copy of RiDE and when I started the bike back up I heard a faint, tinny rattling coming from underneath the tank.

Because I'm a drama queen I'm worried, is there a possibility they're dying or would it be louder? ( I'm gonna point out this was quite hard to hear even with the bike on idle on standard exhausts ).

I'm bloody hoping they're not going as the bike doesn't even have 10k miles on it yet, I've only done like 500

There are a lot of things stopping me...

The main one is that I'm bloody skint

Oh yes

I hope they aren't. I only have 2 more weeks of needing to commute on this bike and then it will be a weekend toy, I will probably end up murdering someone if I have to use public transport to get to work and back again. It takes me 20 minutes to do the 16 miles to work, it takes the bus a wombles hour and a half :(

STOPPER MOD!!!!!

I would imagine theres no warning with cct failure, so don't risk it.

What's cheaper?

A- a bit of 8mm ally rod off ebay.

B- Engine rebuild, hire bike & eternal shame.

But my flywheel has no markings :( And I reckon there are blind, limbless monkeys better at doing mechanical work than me

There must be some markings on the flywheel somewhere, maybe remove the flywheel side cover and get a better view?

Your choice wether do a relatively inexpensive easy mod to an intact engine or possibly more expensive repairs after the top end grenades.

There is one marking, and it's a sole 'F' or a sole 'R'. I can't remember. I tried doing the stopper mod before but the instructions provided by Sirch's thread just made no sense compared to what my bike had.

I want to do something, I just physically can't
