Should have bought a knackered old SP1, then you could have done it up a bit, ridden it in the snow, left it dirty, and had a lot more fun than the perfect one...

Well im in two minds, a late newer model or something older to tailor to my taste, I suppose its more to do with watching the field to see if anything jumps out at me. You never know, I may end up with a cheap enough newer model that will leave me enough funds to tailor

Thats either an RRW or an RRX, I had a perticularly mint RRX, they are excellent well built bikes, the only couple of niggles I had with them was the front wheel, I absoloutely hated the 16 inch wheel and how it felt round bends, they are a bit martmite for that, some owners swap them out for the 17 inch with a bit of messing, the other thing I didnt like was the fact that those years Honda tamed the power down on them from previous year as the Fireblade was getting VERY popular then and wanted to make them more ' rideable ' and then turned them back into animals with fuel injection.

Power wise I got obliterated by a Z1000 on mine.

Yep it is a RRX, 2941 miles, I believe you can fit a vfr750fr front to most of the earlier blades, not sure of the RRW /X as they had slightly bigger discs so not sure if the disc bolts or the offset needs moding etc, to be honest I think I can live with the front wheel at 16" as the days of me thrashing to the limits on the road are truly behind me, I'll give it a jet kit and can over winter then that's it, my profits off the Sp 1 are in my VTR tin,

I'm not sure what you need to do to swap it over, but I am told it does make a considerable amount of difference, 16 inch wheel are a pain, I didnt like it as the handling felt all wierd and the front felt like it was going to tuck under round bend, putting the suspension settings back to factory made a little difference, also with those tyre sizes your limited on the tyres you can buy.

If your not going to push the bike, then it may just be best to buy a can you dont have rejet the carbs to use, so you still get a nice sound, these plenty of power on tap even if they did dumb em down a bit.

The 16" is ok when the forks have been set up .
I fitted a 17" to mine just for tyre choice .
