Being a recent Firestormer everything is new and each day brings a new puzzle
I only rode the bike once for 100 mile trip before I read the CCT woes posts.
Following the excellent advice here I have been pulling it apart with a view to attempting the stopper mod or fitting manual CCTs.
I didn't get a Tool kit with the bike and so to determine the correct plug spanner size I went to Halfords and got them to fish out the correct plug and to offer it up to their selection.
So this morning I went to take out the plugs and stack me the spanner seems to not fit.
I could not get it to bite.
I took out the rubber grommet and tried again.
It seemed to be no good
I lifted out the spanner and stack me again the plug came up with it
It took me a few seconds to realise the spanner did fit and the plug had been so loose that there was no perceptible effort required to spin the plug in the thread.
I checked the front plug and found that to be less than finger tight.
Strange that the motor ran well on it's only outing
The question is:
Has the motor and or plug threads suffered any damage?
I really am glad I was put off riding until I have dealt with the CCTs and Reg Rec issues.
How silly
Re: How silly
You should be alright, as long as the plugs tighten up ok when you tighten them up.
Not much more than finger tight and a bit, and I'd recommend a smear of copper grease on the thread to make later removal easier.
However, if the thread/threads have stripped, at least you know why the previous owner was selling it.....
Let us know?
For what it's worth, a loose plug will usually only create a problem if it almost unscrews, then the pressure can blow it out taking the outermost couple of threads with it. If it happens several times there won't be enough thread left to hold it in.
Secondly, if air is leaking in, at low revs it will run s lumpily due to mixtures being incorrect, but still, not likely to be critical on one of these, so you should be ok.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
