I would seccond this, stopping and handling is more important than looking good and going bloody quick

1k you could get a full fireblade USD front end second hand get new springs to suit your weight and wheel barings too and the brakes it comes with serviced

You would still have a load of money's left for a brand new nitron rear shock, and while your at the back end take the linkage off and rear wheel and get all new bearings there too service the rear caliper and get a braided line for that as well

money left you could get a good seccond hand front brake master cylinder too

Two birds with one stone! stop / turn + it's brought into the modern era with the looks department having a Upside down fork front end, nothing screems dated old bike like RWU skinny forks

Yep Shock and forks by Roger i think!!!

Paul, I would definitely get the front forks breathed on by Roger, IMHO it transforms the bike, a new rear shock suited for your body weight would be the icing on the cake,

i still say get a full USD front off a blade and a new Nitron shock and then get the bike to http://www.kais-ohlins.co.uk/ in atherton (mancheter) for new springs and set up


With a newer USD set up your gonna get lighter wheel, better brakes, better forks, Less flex, more feel, slightly lower more racey front end, cool as wombles looks

Back end a new shock from Nitron http://www.nitron.co.uk/products/bike - bloody works of art too, and then a refersh of beaings and caiper overhaul at the back end

and a 6mm rear shock spacer if you're a tall chap tho it might be high adjustable the nitron

And the blade forks are a lot lighter, a nice carbon mudguard and Ti fixings all round will get the front up all day, and that feels like you've spent the grand on engine mods.
Mind you, it'd look like you're copying mine, but without the road grime.

Due to the blade forks being shorter, you won't need a 6mm spacer, so there's a saving right there!
