I generally don't worry so much about a precise torque on smaller bolts like that and do them up by feel. Also put some threadlock on. Obviously the main head bolts should be done to a specific torque.

Do you threadlock the main head bolts as well or just torque them down?

Yep I threadlock them as well as it does no harm especially as 9 times out of 10 I'm re-using old bolts.

Honda do not specify thread locking agents on head bolts.

I was waiting for someone to say that.

But does it do any harm to put some on considering re-using old bolts that may have slightly worn threads from being previously torqued up or even over torqued if the head has been on and off a few times over the years by various mechanics/Wear and tear. I see it as added security and does no harm.

I use the Loctite Lock N Seal stuff IIRC it's Blue. TBH I'm a bit pissed off with it as it runs out quick (as in all gone) I'm not sure what the quantity is (yes it say's 3ml) but I'm sure it's a lot less than the size of the tube. It's one of those manufacturer tricks to fool you into thinking you purchasing more than what there is.

Just another option to further contemplate!

I use loctite medium, in a chapstick style dispenser. It's like thick grease or cheese in consistency but dries and locks the thread well.

I'm convinced it lasts a lot longer than the regular fluid type too, Carl.

You might find it cheaper elsewhere, though it will last much longer than regular stuff.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Wrong ones what????

I was not posting about a specific bolt location,, his question was about the general spec for small and large flange bolts, that do not have a specific stated TQ spec..

So I posted a pic of the Honda small flange, large flange bolts Honda uses and a text description of both...

He knows what bolts he is asking about  did not think he needed a pic of them
