Top Boxes

Have any of you lot got one of them Givi mono rack's and a box on a storm ??
I have fancied the practicality for a while but a top box is still a top box.

Nahhh, send him some tools, so he can take it off.

If you want practicality, you shouldn't have a storm. Simple.
They're a lot of things, but practical they ain't.

I have fitted a complete Kappa side and top system to the Storm which I put on for trips (like this weekend, Lakes and Dales) and take off the rest of the time. Fitting and removal takea about 20 minutes, that's all. Can now park up safe in the knowledge that everything is safeley locked away and dry. Walk around without having to carry helmet, gloves etc!

So, you see, they can be practical too!

Yes, yes, yes... you're right, of course. elbow-bags (or whatever you call them over there...) can be practical too. It's just that most bums (I realise not all...) look better without the extras

Btw, I confess I am impressed with the 20 minutes and the fact that you've got a system that can be completely removed to convert the storm back to its rightful beauty & style, even if it does enable the occasional fall from grace

Thanks for your thoughts guys, My problem is that with Hi levels I think a lone top box would look a bit wierd.With low levels the set of 3 looks fine as it fills the back of the bike completely. Obviously I was just having a funny 5 minutes and have now returned to normal.

just back from a rally at the weekend, saw a storm with a givi rack and top box on it, and comparing it to mine which has high level cans fitted i recon the rack will foul the hanger for the cans, may even hit the cans themselves. only way to be sure would be to buy/borrow one to find out.

the hangers for the cans could be removed and a lug fixed onto the Givi bracket that could then be used to bolt the can straps to. but a lot of work would be involved in removing the bracket and getting back to a top box free bike each time you wanted the cleaner look without all of the heavy steelwork involved.

I've got hi levels so that defo sounds like toooo much work for me. I think i'll just buy another ruck sack
