I can fully appreciate Undertaking, but are we breaking the law
...according to the UK highway code YES you are breaking the law by overtaking on the inside!!

though in the US some local areas have legalised 'undertaking'

but aren't the 'hogs' breaking the law too.....by staying out there in the first place???

...and 2 wrongs make a right, Kaz..???
an agressive

and asertive

bike instructor once told me.."the only time you should be in the 'overtaking'/right lane is to overtake or preparing to turn right & the only time the highway code justifies 'undertaking' is when you are passing someone turning right

....so if you come up behind someone in the outside lane

and they are not overtaking

they must be preparing to turn right therefore you are justified in passing on the inside

!!
this would apply to dual carriageways (where there are exits to the right) in the uk but not on the motorways

!!
