steering head bearings

got to change my head bearings soon...any tips on how to jack the front up safely?dont really want it toppling over..cheers guys.

I've always used a paddock stand at the rear then a car jack under the engine

3 top tips
1. Have the jack as far forward as you can get it
2. Use a piece of wood between the jack and the sump (spreads the load and prevents damage)
3. Don't remove the rear wheel!!! The weight of it keeps the whole thing nice and stable. And yes I did find that out the hard way!!

................ what Ben said, and if you can park it near to a strong downpipe (ie soil pipe from the upstairs bathroom) and tie it to it just in case!!!!!! Worked for me.

Got to do mine as well soon, they no longer want to tighten up and tend to knock still.

Been abused i suppose.

Never done them before on a Firestorm, cant be different from any other bike or honda i suppose.

Just remember you're dealing with an aluminium frame headstock here and not a steel one, when removing the old outer bearing races
