Pretty mind blowing stuff. Drillbits that are the thickness of a human hair, gear wheels that are wafer thin and the size of your fingertip but with hundreds of gear teeth cut in. I'm into watches and the engineering involved, the most amazing part is when you think they were able to make stuff like this 100+ years ago. Look up the JLC gyrotourbillon on YouTube as they are seriously impressive from an engineering point of view.

Doing a bit of surfing and stumbled upon something that reminded me of this thread.

The man who makes £100,000 watches > http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-24211691
Each of the watches - prices for which start at £95,000 - takes more than six months for a single watchmaker to create by hand.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

That guy is right about not getting quality from something that is rushed.

There's a programme on telly soon, with Stephen Hawking telling us why he believes in Aliens. Should be interesting

That sounds interesting. I must keep an eye out for that.

I believe that we are living in a parallel universe. There's many worlds within our world and is all inside of a bigger world inside of......blah blah blah. A bit like Russian dolls.

Yeah I could roll with that, it's a cool theory.

So.....
I'm living inside a Russian doll.

That explains a lot of things.....except what parallel bits there are on Russian dolls.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I had an Amiga 500 once!

Sort of puts the saying " Everything Old Is New Again" saying into perspective.

I am old and still feel new.

Look it up, you will be surprised, first computer I ever owned.

I remember them, I had a Commodore 64. My first computer was an Abacus which is basically what a computer is  Actually my first computer was a Sinclair ZX81, I even had the extra 15k ram add-on to push it up to 16k  It amazes me how far this technology has moved in such a short space of time.

I can't imagine what life would be like using older technology..

Partly because I'm so used to modern technology, partly cause modern technology sucks.
