Which double bubble should I buy?

Post by Sloperboy »

Hi there all, first post!!!!! New owner of a F2 vtr with renthal bar conversion on lsl yokes, thinking of putting a smoked/tinted double bubble screen on her, the fairing has been trimmed to allow free movement of the bars so it would have to be one that I would be able to trim to the fairing and still retain the original mounting points. I am not that tall, mid 5's, so dont need anything too big. There are a few on eBay and motorbike sites but any information would be great. Ps great site, lots of info.

I have a puig and it's amazing. However I'm on standard clip-ons so I don't know how different they will be for you

Welcome

With screens it really is a case of having to pay more for better quality. Fabbri are one of the best you can get, MRA, powebronze, also make very nice screens. Personally I would stay away from any of the cheaper ones as they either need a bit of tweaking to fit correctly and/or the screen quality is not as resilient to stone chips/cracks.

fabbri and puig are quality
mra are very good as well.
as carl said, stay away from the £20 specials, they rarely fit properly and they're normally a very thin plastic...

I've got a Fabbri on my Firestorm and it's fine. but don't forget Zero Gravity, I have one on my FireBlade and I'm well impressed with it :D
they both fit very well and look as though they belong there.
Don't go cheap, they are usually a bad fit, don't look right and of poor quality :(

I used a cheap £25 airblade one for a few years and was pretty happy with it..............until I went to remove it to try an MRA flip screen........when it shattered into 3 parts 8O

I then bought a Fabri screen to try, but as I have flat bars fitted now, and am over 6ft, there wasnt enough protection, especially compared to the flip screen. so although it is not as sexy looking I am running the flip screen on my bike now, but I still prefer the look of the double bubble

I agree with al, the flip screen offers more wind protection, but doesn't look as good.

I had an iridium airblade but it shattered when i was knocked off, got a zero gravity dark double bubble now it fits much better than the air blade.
