I suppose it's understandable the market for our bikes is going to be slim now.

1200 US dollars is a lot less than we can get a new Ohlins for 8O

If only we had a member who travels to the US on a regular basis and has a friend over there to use as a shipping address, who could act as an Ohlins mule!

Oh yeah, at £731 they'd sell like hot cakes. Fck me some members would question spending that on a whole bike   .

I think that's cheap compared to well over a grand to buy one in the UK, even if you buy a decent secondhand shock, by the time you get serviced and resprung its going to cost between 300 to 500 quid, but its hard to justify it when a very good condition storm can be had for £1500.
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

I really wouldn't bother with an Ohlins now days, the prices have gone way too high, Price for one from this country £968 you don't get ride height, but if it's the same as my old one you do get hydraulic preload. A Nitron track shock is about £550 (comp, rebound & ride height) add hydraulic preload for £150, that's £700 for a shock that's every bit as good as the Ohlins available for these bikes, maybe even better and it'll come set up to your spec, you should be able to get other shocks too for similar price/spec like Wilbers/Maxton etc. If you don't need the compression damping then the Nitron do a more basic version, shock factory, Hagon etc all do shocks between £3-400.. Why bother with Over priced Ohlins

Yeah it is just too bad I don't travel to the US on a regular basis........
and I have no friends, so I guess I'm useless.........

Though this is the second time I have heard that the HO 701 was to be discontinued.
The first time was a good 3-4 years ago.

Though I tend to believe Ohlins will make you one even if it is no longer as regularly stocked item.

I will stay out of the "which shock to run" discussion, just try to stay away from an emulsion shock if you can.
Other than that they are all better than the stock unit.

One last bit, you can put a ride height adj on HO701 if you want..... I have it on mine

We do have a member who meets all the criteria mentioned, although I do wonder whether his rectum is roomy enough for an Ohlins! Oh you don't have to do that for non-narcotics? I think the guy I have in mind would store it that way for jolly's!!!!!

It's much easier to just buy a bike with the Ohlins
