I am close to finsbury park, N4 area. Edgeware would be a great place to start! How much do you guys think would be for a quick checkup?
Rob charged me £80 plus parts for a service, the bike felt much better and even got polished by his girlfriend, the shock nearly killed it!
His number is 07912 991 715 He will also collect and deliver for a small charge. His place is often filled with the London Bikers crowd, so you can meet some more loonies!

If you use him let me know when and I will meet you up there, its only 10 mins from me and you can hear what stupidly loud pipes are like.

And yours do sound very good. Nice deep tone.

Ok don't get me wrong, I would love to have a go at dismantling my bike to pieces and then put it back together (providing that there is a reason to do that...) I just don't have a place where to work. A closed area close to my place with a roof, light, music, a fridge and some indecent pictures of samantha fox on the walls. A proper mancave. Am I asking for too much?! I dont think so!.

Thanks guys, a lot of useful stuff in this post. Thanks furrybiker for the contact, I may call him next weekend. I will try to fix some of the easier stuff myself this weekend and finally have a good look at my bike.. I really haven't looked at her yet in its best light... when I picked it up it was getting dark, and in the morning I dont have time to droll at it properly.

Cybercarl, I will try that on the throttle grip as it's really getting on my nerves.. Are there baffles that I can buy for the cans? They have honda written on them so they should have baffles right? I mean, I doubt that honda is going to be selling road illegal pipes.. I'll have a look at the model name next time.

Cheers guys!

The original cans have baffles built into them, but from you description they have had a Bafflectomy done on them to rip the baffles out. And no you can't buy replacements baffles for them.

To keep it cheap, you can buy various sized universal baffles on eBay for around £12. You just need to measure the internal diameter of the standard can outlet and drill a small hole for the baffles to bolt on to. Would take 2 mins!

The price of universal baffles, might be handier swapping them for an unbafflectomied set for someone who wants louder cans?

I personally wouldnt see the point of spending money on standard cans that have been pulled apart!

I agree, standard cans go pretty cheap, but it would be cool to have standard cans with removable baffles for when the desire to make some noise arises

Just something I read ... do not let the VTR tick over on the stand.. better if you are astride the seat... the motor suffers a
little oil deprevation believe if it is angled to one side ticking over causes premature wear I read.. upright is best..
