Re: Carbon dipping
Certainly looks different. Looks like you got a good finish too. How do you do it? Is it something you can do at home or do you need special equipment to do it?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: Carbon dipping
Seems to me the dipping is the easy part. It's only ever going to look as good as the paint basecoat and the finish you get on the lacquer. So the better prep the better the finish and then how good a sprayer you are for the basecoat and then getting a good finish with the lacquer.

Re: Carbon dipping
That's what i thought until I tried it, water has to be 30 degrees, film has to be placed down in the water trying not to get any bubbles under it, leave it there for 1 minute and then spray the activator on the film . Once the film starts to spread dip the item at a 40 degree angle nice a slow to quick u miss bits and to slow it looks terrible. Nice feeling when u get it right though
Re: Carbon dipping
I think it looks fab mate, how much to do mine?
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!
Re: Carbon dipping
It looks good to me
The first time I saw dipping like this was on American Chopper on TV.
