mpg on motorways.
Just a quickie- what kind of mpg/tankrange can be expected with sensible long distance motorway cruising, say at a more or less constant 80 mph with gentle throttle openings? Or in other words, could it be used to commute from Bournemouth up the M3 to Heathrow on a daily basis without buying shares in BP? I'm talking early style bike with smaller tank....
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over...."
On Autoroute that comes out at 93 miles. That being so you will just about make it on one tank but you'll only have a couple of ml of fuel to play with at the end. That being so you will need to identify a petrol station close to Heathrow!!
On price terms you'll be looking at two tanks of fuel a day, currently £13ish a tank. That's £500 a month
So unless you are the managing director of heathrow or BA then get something like a VFR800 or other cruiser!!
I use my VTR to commute but then my commute is about 8 miles!! I don't want to put a downer on your idea but it will cost you a lot to use the Storm.
Good luck!!

Its not just fuel you need to think of!! I was commuting 40 miles each way for nearly 4 years. Tyres square off quicker, your servicing bill will be high and your bike will depreciate quicker. I put 24 000 miles on my ZX6R in just over 21 months. It had a full history, v good condition but when I was trading in for the Storm I £2500 for a bike that was less than 2 years old.... and 1 dealer wouldn't take it as p/ex. Also things like shocks, etc wear out quicker.
Despite that its much better than sitting on a train or in the car

.... no more bike, divorce sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
